a few pictures

Hi Everyone! Our ability to upload pics is a little hit and miss, but the bandwidth is good so we are going to get a few out while we can!

Here you can see the library, which doubles as our cafeteria--its the open door to the left. Before you eat, everyone washes their hands in warm water from the tin with soap. Rub a dub dub Dr. Kingus.

It has rained every afternoon--which is one of the reasons for the email difficulty. Isn't it beautiful still?

Hey Michele,

It’s the girls at Urbana hoping to get this email to you. Hope everything is going well. Harold has seen quite a few patients everyday that he has been here, which is really good. We’ve been keeping really busy trying to get a lot of the things done that need to get done. Tifanie took the kids garage selling with her on Saturday, and they came home from one of the garage sales with a puppy. More work, but it made the kids happy. All is going well here, hope the same with you. We want to make sure this gets to you before we dish on any patient info that you would want to know about. Talk to you later.

Hey all! Its soo amazing to see the wonderful things you guys are accomplishing. Jeanie, you're doing a fabulous job writing the Kenya story! I have a funny story to share with you all to keep you updated in Iowa. To start it off, about 2hrs ago, we had a tornado warning for Solon(not to scare you Michele) so I took the dogs and went downstairs to my room to listen to the weather channel. Tammy, bless her heart, called to tell me that I should go to the sturdiest place in the house and lay low. So, imagine please- myself, peek, wasabi, mya, sky, and lovey all huddled in the downstairs bathroom. Mya and lovey were on my lap in the tub with flashlights and cell phone in hand(yes, I said tub) and the other girls were laying calmly on the floor. We remained there for 30 minutes! Well,it all blew over and we rejoiced in triumph for beating out the storm! The dogs were so relieved that they had made it through the storm that one took it upon themselves to rejoice by urinating all over my bed. I know you all must be thinking, "Silly Lizzy, why would you let the dogs pee all over your bed? Was it the tramatic team huddle in the tub that inspired you to allow such erratic behavior?" Well, let me put all wondering minds to rest, when I say that during the storm I had heard a loud crash from upstairs. Thinking that a tree limb was now a hanging fixture on the house, I had left the dogs shut in my room (HUGE MISTAKE) to do a damage control walkthru. I talked to Tammy and Doug during this time to let them know we had survived and the house remained in one piece. After the quick 5 min jaunt through the house, I was welcomed back to my room with open paws, 5 smiling faces, and a piss stain 2 feet in diameter in the center of my bed. The culprit not only did a number on my bed but was successful in hitting not one (sky), not two (ditty), but three(SKY DITTY) of my four pillows! Im sure sometime I will look back on this and laugh; possibly later tonight after the sheets and pillows have been washed(multiple x's)and the bed is made and think its was all worth it, cuz if something would have happened to the puppies, Id be the next thing shipped to Niarobi! Love you all lots.
